Van Acker prides itself on its diverse group of highly skilled employees. One of these is Director of Operations Laura Palko, who has been with the firm for over twenty years. The Bay Area native earned a BS in Business Administration from San Francisco State University. After that, Laura worked in commercial construction for seven years before finding her way to Van Acker.

Van Acker kicked off summer with a Summer Solstice Party to celebrate the season. The team gathered in the parking lot of the Mill Valley office, where they found festive cloth-covered tables and patio umbrellas with citrus-toned decorations.

Van Acker prides itself on its long-term collaborations. One is with the design firm G2, based in Marin County and headed by Gari Sprott and Gunnar Burklund. The designers met Van Acker over twenty years ago when they worked together remodeling a  Belvedere Island property, giving the mid-century architecture a European ambiance and highlighting panoramic bay views.
